I have lived in Northern California my entire life. I attended school at Cal State University Chico. I received my California Landscape Contractors License and teaching credential In the early 80’s and worked as a contractor for 35 years. I picked up a fly rod at the age of twenty one and that changed everything. Beth and I are married with two grown children and two grandsons.

What is your favorite feature about this trailer?

If I have to pick one it is the solar/battery system and lighting.
How has owning this trailer changed the way you camp?
This one is easy. I have been tent camping and fly fishing for 50 years. This trailer will allow us to camp longer ,stay safer and warmer in the fall and winter.

There are many trailer options on the market, what made you go with a Second Wind trailer?

We looked at teardrop builds all over the country and decided that it was important to work with a California builder. That helped us come to the conclusion that the two best builders for us were in Northern California. The teardrop that Nathan built was the perfect fit for us.

How often are you camping?

We camp several times a year. This teardrop is a main piece in our retirement plan.

We all go camping for different reasons, what is yours?

Fly fishing allows me to camp and visit beautiful places, Having adventures with family members is one of the best reasons I can think of.

What vehicle are you towing your trailer with?

2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz SEL Premium 2.5L Turbo We also will use our 1999 Dodge Dakota.

What is your favorite feature about this trailer?

I love the way it looks and the mattress is good too. I get so many compliments on the style. Every time I take it out, people tell me how much they love it.

How has owning this trailer changed the way you camp?

I have a lot of freedom to road-trip comfortably around the country. I enjoy having that option instead of needing to book hotels or rent a camper every time I want to use one.

I wanted to support a local business, and have something customized to my needs.

How often are you camping?

Once a month, during the summer almost every weekend.

I love to be outdoors and in touch with nature. It keeps me grounded.

What is your favorite feature about this trailer?

The ease of setup. We can get to a location late and literally jump in the trailer and go right to bed.

How has owning this trailer changed the way you camp?

It’s night and day. We used to camp with a tent and a blow up mattress. Now we sleep soundly and comfortably on a memory foam mattress inside our trailer.

My wife and I were each educators for 25 years. We enjoy getting off the beaten path in our jeep. We had “Coastie” built to be able to follow us to some remote sites. We also rent the teardrop and it has been to many rustic campground. The renters seem to like taking “Coastie” to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore.

What is your favorite feature about this trailer?

The smell of the cabin is our favorite feature. The cedar interior makes us feel like we are sleeping in woods.

How has owning this trailer changed the way you camp?

We stopped camping before we got the trailer. I really needed a comfortable place to sleep without the damp camping feeling.

There are many trailer options on the market, what made you go with a Second Wind trailer?

I personally like the styling of the Freedom trailer and the willingness of Nathan to add the custom touches we wanted.

How often are you camping?

The quick answer is “not enough”. The camper has been used by our family 6 trips so far this year. We have also rented the camper on off weekends.

We like to decompress while camping. We go on mild hikes and river trips while out in Northern Michigan.

The smaller interior keeps the heat in more on cold nights.
How has owning this trailer changed the way you camp?
Much easier to haul around, and allows us to use dry campsites more.

Needed a smaller trailer than the one I had, and also wanted to be able fit it into my garage. Also wanted to use a smaller builder.

How often are you camping?

About 5 to 6 trips from Spring to Fall, sometimes more.

To see all of our wonderful state and national parks before my time is up.
