“Less than one month before I relocated from South Lake Tahoe, California to SW Florida I discovered Second Wind Trailers and contacted the builder, Nathan. He worked miracles to get the build completed within my two week window from initial deposit, with customizations specifically designed for me with a platform roof rack where I can stand on top of the trailer and make photographs. I encountered wild winds and constant rains theoughout New Mexico and Texas, and I was certain the wheels were literally going top burst from all the rough roads and construction along I-10 Fwy West to East. This little trailer we call “Pearl” handles all these obstacles with zero damage to the unit and only one broken bowl from the cabinets inside opening and bins being tossed onto the slepping cushion during rougher roadwork. The evenings were too hot to sleep most nights as well, but the fan ran all night with the screen doors open for draft. All things considered, Pearl pulled like it was part of my Honda Passport and the bumpers did not fall off. I am thrilled I chose Nathan and Second Wind Trailers for my teardrop trailer travel adventure. His team worked beyond the call of duty to get me safely to my destination and provided a One Way transport permit as part of the package. I love the way it looks and the mattress is good too. I get so many compliments on the style. Every time I take it out, people tell me how much they love it.
I have a lot of freedom to road-trip comfortably around the country. I enjoy having that option instead of needing to book hotels or rent a camper every time I want to use one.

The ease of setup. We can get to a location late and literally jump in the trailer and go right to bed.
It’s night and day. We used to camp with a tent and a blow up mattress. Now we sleep soundly and comfortably on a memory foam mattress inside our trailer.

My wife and I were each educators for 25 years. We enjoy getting off the beaten path in our jeep. We had “Coastie” built to be able to follow us to some remote sites. We also rent the teardrop and it has been to many rustic campground. The renters seem to like taking “Coastie” to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore.

What is your favorite feature about this trailer?
The smell of the cabin is our favorite feature. The cedar interior makes us feel like we are sleeping in woods.
We stopped camping before we got the trailer. I really needed a comfortable place to sleep without the damp camping feeling.

I personally like the styling of the Freedom trailer and the willingness of Nathan to add the custom touches we wanted.

The quick answer is “not enough”. The camper has been used by our family 6 trips so far this year. We have also rented the camper on off weekends.

We like to decompress while camping. We go on mild hikes and river trips while out in Northern Michigan.

The galley!
It has given so much comfort while camping and given us many of the amenities that we would have at home. I love the tear drop because it allows us to still be outdoors during our camping experience and the ease of towing it to the mountains.
